Today I had lunch with a group of friends at Obá Restaurant, on Rua Melo Alves, one of the restaurants participating in the Restaurant Week. The event, which gathers dozens of places in São Paulo, goes until March 15, so you still have a chance to participate and eat good food at a reasonable price.
During this festival, all the restaurants offer a fixed price menu (R$ 25 for lunch and R$ 39 for dinner), which includes an entree, the main dish and dessert. The event also supports "Fundação Ação Criança", by asking a volunteer donation of R$ 1.
The first Restaurant Week took place in New York (USA), 16 years ago, and in São Paulo the first event was in 2007.
The next events in Brazil will be in Rio, in April, Brasília and Recife, in July.
